Discovering Your Spiritual Beliefs: A Journey of Self-Exploration

Beginning the quest to define & understand your spiritual beliefs is a deeply personal & transformative journey. Whether you are exploring spirituality for the first time or seeking to deepen your existing beliefs, the process of self-discovery can be both enriching & enlightening - to yourself but also to the relationships & connections in your life.

Here are five main points to guide you on your path to uncovering your spiritual beliefs:

1. Self-Reflection:

Begin by taking time for introspection & self-reflection. Think back on your life experiences, values, & the questions that stir your soul. Reflect on the answers that come up. What do you care about? How much do you care about it? What beliefs resonate with you on a profound level? What aspects of spirituality spark curiosity or inspiration within you?

For example, having the thoughts and beliefs of “money isn’t everything” is not necessarily spiritual, but if you look deeper into why you believe that statement to be true, maybe it’s because you feel that a happy, nourished soul is what you believe to matter more. Especially if you’re new to all this, diving extra deep into the ‘why?’ of things is super important. By exploring your inner landscape, you can gain clarity on the beliefs and principles that align with your authentic self.

2. Exploration of Traditions & Philosophies:

Expand your horizons by exploring various spiritual traditions, philosophies, and practices. Dive into books, blogs, Youtube videos, & engage in discussions with individuals from those diverse backgrounds. Consider exploring ancient wisdom traditions, contemporary spiritual teachings, and philosophical frameworks that resonate with your inner truth. Keep an open mind as you navigate the vast realm of spiritual knowledge and wisdom.

As always, stay alert for “false light gurus” - they’re the ones claiming to have access to higher information, or extra information, and for a certain dollar amount they’ll share it with you. Red flag moment right there!

3. Connection with Nature and the Divine:

Nature serves as a profound source of spiritual inspiration & connection. Spend time in natural settings, whether it be a tranquil forest, a serene beach, or your own backyard. Allow yourself to immerse in the beauty and wonder of the natural world, feeling a sense of awe & reverence for the divine in all its forms, but also feeling a sense of being interconnected. You are part of nature, nature is part of you. You’re tired together in many ways. Just as everyone else is tired to nature, as are you, does that mean that you’re tired and connected to everyone via this pathway? Nature can serve as a powerful teacher, guiding you on your journey of self-discovery & spiritual awakening.

4. Practice of Mindfulness and Meditation:

Bring mindfulness & meditation into your daily routine to allow  inner peace and spiritual awareness to take a place in your life. Set aside time each day for quiet contemplation, deep breathing, and introspective practices. Allow yourself to quiet the chatter of the mind and attune to the whispers of your soul. Through mindfulness and meditation, you can deepen your connection with your inner wisdom and intuition, gaining insights into your spiritual beliefs and values.

5. Authentic Expression and Exploration:

Embrace authenticity & genuine expression & allow yourself the freedom to explore & experiment with different spiritual practices & beliefs. Trust your intuition and follow the guidance of your heart as you navigate the twists and turns of your spiritual journey. Remember that spirituality is a deeply personal path, and there is no one-size-fits-all approach. Hon our your unique experiences, insights, & revelations as you uncover the depths of your spiritual
